THE QUEENS JUBILEE CELEBRATION ~ 2nd June 2022
Below is the Midland Newspaper (The Echo) article showing our wonderful seniors at the Queens Jubilee event that was held last Thursday 2nd June. Two of our best dressed Seniors made it into the Echo newspaper! Congratulations Joe and Janet on receiving the best dressed prizes!

The Echo paper is available online, on their website. It can also be picked up in hard copy, tomorrow 10th June 2022, anywhere where the Echo paper gets delivered.

BUSY BEE AT THE CENTRE ~ 2nd June 2022
On Thursday 9th June we got together with one of the Seniors from the Sunshine Club and did a Busy Bee to rearrange the Foyer of the Centre.

As you can see from the Before and After photographs, there's a lot more Sunshine coming through into the Centre and there's more open space to allow safe and ease of movement.

SWAN VALLEY STATION BRUNCH ~ 16th June 2022
We enjoyed a sunny and relaxing day at Swan Valley Station (pics below).
We checked out the sculptures dotted around the beautifully kept grounds and enjoyed a delicious brunch under a shady tree.

We would recommend the Swan Valley Station to young and old and everyone in between.

KEY SOURCE RAIL TOUR in MIDVALE~ 28th July
We had a wonderful tour of KeySourceRail in Midvale recently and Alan (one of the Directors of Key Source Rail) kindly gave up his time to show us around the facility and explain all about their onsite wheel maintenance equipment. He told us that they have supplied the Australian rail and mining industries with railway track maintenance services for 13 years – and best of all - they are a family orientated business and also have a community centred ethos. So good to see!

Once the tour was over, we got to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea with Anne (one of the business owners) while Alan answered our questions.

Thank you Alan and Anne for inviting us – we learnt a LOT about the industry and your part in it! Very interesting.

Our thanks also go out to Marianne from City of Swan for organising a bus for us!

CHAIR YOGA BY YOGALEEN~ 18th August
A few months ago we were generously offered 8 complimentary Chair Yoga sessions with Eileen from YogaLeen
So for the last 6 weeks we have been guided by Eileen 1 day a week through all the movements necessary to gain balance, strength and flexibility.
We know that participating in activities like Yoga has many health benefits and it improves your overall fitness without the risk of injury or strain. Chair yoga, in particular, is perfect for those of us with mobility issues, arthritis, vertigo etc.

Chair Yoga increases flexibility, improves muscle strength, helps with balance and coordination, reduces stress, reduces pain and better pain management skills, promotes better sleep, helps boost confidence and alleviates depression and anxiety.

Please message this page if you are interested in joining us for the last couple of (free) sessions. Our thanks got to Eileen for the opportunity to learn new moves and help us stay on our feet.

SENIORS CARD INFORMATION SESSION ~ 25th Aug 2022
we had a wonderful guest speaker visit us at the Centre to tell us about the benefits of the WA Seniors Card.

Thank you to Chris Foster (Marketing & Advertising Officer, WA Seniors Card Centre) for taking the time to explain all about the WA government rebates and concessions available to us!
A little information about the WA Seniors Card program:

"It's the most generous program of its kind in Australia, providing over 400,000 members access to a wide range of State Government concessions and rebates. The WA Seniors Card also provides you with benefits from participating businesses across Western Australia." WA Seniors Card
